Dear Prospective Sponsor:

The Dawson Creek & District Exhibition Association, World Professional Chuckwagon Association and Canadian Professional Rodeo Association would like to thank your business for considering our 2008 Sponsorship Package.

We look forward to the “2008 Greatest Show in the Peace,” which will celebrate the 86th anniversary of our event. 25,000 attended the “2007 Greatest Show in the Peace”, with a sell out on Saturday and a rain out on Sunday! Otherwise we would have beaten the 2006 record of 30,000 people. Our event is the largest Agriculture Fair this side of Edmonton and one of the largest Fairs in B.C.

We have included a DVD disc which you can play on your computer or home DVD player. Les McIntyre, World Professional Chuckwagon race announcer has narrated the presentation and includes pictures of our 2007 Exhibition and event information. Take a look! We have many sponsorship opportunities for your business to select from, starting as low as $500.00.

    • “Tarp Auction” - Our event participates in the World Professional Chuckwagon Canvas Auction. 2007 a total of $240,000 worth of tarps sold for our 5 day Race Meet.. Grand Prairie Stompede and ourselves share a venue for the Tarp Auction – “Dukes Country Club” in Grande Prairie. This years date is March 18th at 5:00 p.m.(Alberta time) The Auction can be seen on Bell Express (channel 639) or Star Choice – (channel 570).
    •  “Chuckwagon Event Sponsorship” – offering businesses the opportunity to sponsor a heat of 4 chuckwagons at our Race Meet, choosing from World Professional Chuckwagons, Western Chuckwagons or Pony Chuckwagons. What an opportunity to showcase your business.
    •  “Added Purse” – for Bareback, Saddle Bronc and Bull Riding, at $2000.00 each. We have added monies to these 3 rough stock events to enhance the dollar value now up to $7000.00 in each. We are a dual sanctioned rodeo, which means points won at our rodeo go towards the Canadian National Finals and the National Finals in LasVegas. Added money helps to bring in more of the top cowboys. Your business can play a big part of the featured events by sponsoring the added purse at $2000.00.
    •  “Electronic Scoreboard” – offers businesses or event venues the opportunity for signage on our electronic scoreboard during Rodeo and Wagon events. Signage is on the bottom of the Scoreboard and sold at a day rate. We have rented a coloured scoreboard with graphics for 2008.
    •  “Agriculture Fair” - we supply the public with knowledge of where their food comes from and the importance of agriculture to feed the world. Agriculture plays a huge part in our eco system and is on the leading edge of food supply and environmental issues. Your business sponsorship dollars would contribute to keeping our Agriculture Fair alive.

The 5 day event not only offers sponsorship opportunities but social events for our sponsors. With every sponsorship comes complimentary Thursday night race and “Kick off BBQ” tickets, (with music by a top Country Recording Artist), complimentary camping in the Apache Sponsor area all 5 days (sponsors at $2500.00 and up). Tiessen Media will be back with us again – broadcasting 12 WPCA Race Meets, including the Calgary Stampede, all broadcasts over radio CJDC 890.

We are proud of the upgrades completed at the Exhibition Park – new bucking chutes, new overhead steel structure for our two announcer booths, race track upgrades, the start of upgrades to the light horse barns and “Old Town”. Our biggest undertaking in 2007 was the purchase of an adjoining 4 acre property which houses the “Livestock Auction Market”. The Auction Market has been leased out to Vold Jones Vold Auction Company of Ponoka, Alberta, bringing regular cattle and horse sales back to the BC – Alberta Peace River Country after not having a sale yard for four years. Our Association were winners of the World Professional Chuckwagon Committee of the Year for 3 consecutive years (2004, 2005, and 2006) and hosted the BC Provincial Agriculture Fair for 2007. 2008 we will be hosting the BC Angus Gold Show in our Cattle Division. “Wrangler’s Tough Enough to Wear Pink” fundraiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation will be back on the Friday and we are again pledging our share of the 50/50 Friday draw and sales of “Pink” merchandise.

We are looking forward to having your business participate in one of our Sponsorship Packages and joining us from August 6 – 10th, at the “2008 Greatest Show in the Peace.”

Yours in the Betterment of our Communities
