GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS

    1. All exhibitors must purchase a $3.00 membership to the Dawson Creek & Exhibition Association
    2. Exception to Rule #1:   4-H exhibitors and Junior exhibitors unless entering Adult Classes
    3. All prize money must be picked up from the Fair office by 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 10, 2008
    4. NO PRIZE MONEY will be mailed out
    5. All exhibits must stay on display until 5:00 pm on Sunday, August 10, 2008
    6. In the absence of competition in any class or if entries exhibited are of inferior quality, the Judges will award only such prizes as they deem the exhibit merits.
    7. All entries except Livestock must be the creation, or the product of the effort and work of the exhibitor, and must have been completed within the previous 12 months, unless otherwise stated.
    8. Should any question arise not provided for in the Rules & Regulations, the decision of the Board of Directors is final.
    9. Protests must be made in writing stating the grounds for the protest and accompanied by a deposit of $50.00, which will not be refunded if the protest is deemed frivolous by the Protest Committee. No protest should be entertained regarding the merit of an animal or an article exhibited. The decision of the Judge or Judges on the point is final. The Protest Committee shall consist of the President, Secretary and one Director.
    10. All exhibitors please take note of the RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE when exhibiting entries in all Sections.

RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE:

    The Dawson Creek Exhibition Association and the Livestock Committee will not be responsible for any loss, personal injury or damage to livestock exhibited or for any article of any kind or nature that may be lost or destroyed or in any way damaged. Each exhibitor will be responsible for any injury that may be occasioned to any person or any animal or damage to any property while on the grounds by any livestock owned or exhibited by persons and shall indemnify the management against all legally established claims or damages of any kind or nature that may grow out of any injury occasioned by any livestock owned and exhibited by persons.

EXHIBITOR - PARKING/TRAFFIC REGULATIONS

All areas, with the exception of  the designated camping spaces, are considered Loading/Unloading zones. Livestock exhibitors are permitted to park in these areas while loading/unloading animals and equipment ONLY. Maximum duration of parking in these areas is 20 minutes and must be prior to 9:30 AM and after 10:00 PM during the fair. Any vehicle parked in the loading/unloading areas ( adjacent to barns etc.) after 9:30 AM and prior to 10:00 PM will be towed at the owner's expense.  This rule is for the safety of the public, exhibitors and animals, and exhibitors who violate this rule may be disqualified or barred from entering subsequent years as deemed appropriate by the Directors.

        • Permission to park campers and motor homes will only be granted to livestock exhibitors who have paid their membership and entry fees. There is no charge for camping for exhibitors. Camping is ONLY in designated areas: along the light horse show ring and north side of the cattle barn.   THESE VEHICLES  MUST HAVE A VALID "CAMPING PASS" THAT MUST BE OBTAINED AT THE FAIR OFFICE IN ADVANCE AND WILL BE CHECKED DAILY. Stock trailers may be parked for the duration of the Fair in the designated section northwest of the Auction Market.  Stock trailers must be unhooked from vehicle.
      • NEW TO 2008:  NO PARKING WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE FAIRGROUNDS IN ANY AREA.

        TRAFFIC:  UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL VEHICLES (EXCEPT AMBULANCES, FIRE OR POLICE ) BE PERMITTED TO MOVE WITHIN THE FAIRGROUNDS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9:00 AM AND 10:00 PM, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY (AUGUST 8 th, 9 th) AND BETWEEN THE HOURS 9:00 AM AND 5:00 PM SUNDAY (AUGUST 10 th).  -- Light Horse Exhibitors -- please see exceptions under "Light Horse" Division

      • Office opens at fairgrounds, July 2nd, at 9:00 am.
 
 
 EXHIBIT PICKUP
Due to the high volume of traffic and spectators coming into the Fair Grounds for the Chuckwagon Race Meet “Dash for Cash” Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the moving out of spectators following the Chuckwagon Race Meet, the following schedule will be in effect:

PICKING UP OF EXHIBITS
Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
from 9:00 p.m. to Midnight

The following livestock can be removed:
    Cattle
    Light Horse
    Heavy Horse
    Llama
    Sheep
    Poultry
    Rabbits
    Kid’s Kritters

Out of town exhibitors ONLY for NON LIVE Exhibits
Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 6:30 p.m.to 7:30 p.m.
From 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.


Local exhibitors for NON LIVE Exhibits and/or Live animal exhibits
Monday, August 11, 2008 the grounds will be open from 8:00 a.m.
